Montottone is a mediaeval hilltop village, full of delighful historic buildings and perched on a hilltop in the Ascoli Piceno province of Le Marche. It is surrounded by countryside typical of the area with vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers giving it a truly Italian feel. The beautiful city of Fermo is 20 minutes away to the east and the coastal resorts of Pedaso and Porto san Giorgio are also within a 25 minute drive.
The village hosts a range of shops, including a butchers, bakers, newsagents, hardware store, tobacconists, pharmacy,fresh pasta shop and two mini markets, as well as a Bank, a post office, bars and restaurants.
There is a lively social calendar in the village particularly during the summer months when the village's population seems to double with the influx of Italians from the main cities for the holiday period.
Both the main airports serving the region are within easy reach, Ancona airport an hour away to the north and Pescara about 70 mins distant. The house is for sale at 68,000 euros negotiable. | |
